WHEREAS, the prospects of our nation and our children depend on the strength of its schools, America’s schools are not keeping pace with the demands of today’s world, and our schools are failing to prepare students for college, for careers, and for life:

• More than one million students drop out of school every year;
• The amount of time college students spend in remedial courses is growing;
• Nearly half of high school graduates are not prepared with skills to advance beyond entry level jobs, employers estimate;

NOW, THEREFORE, WE the undersigned demand that the candidates for president of the United States of America – Republican, Democrat and Independent – provide a specific and detailed plan to provide every child the opportunity to attend a strong American school.
